ONLINE house auctions will move a step closer to reality next month with the state's
first online webcast. Webtron director Alex Hill said the auction of a Brunswick house
on December 1 would ``enhance the auction process by providing an opportunity to
experience the auction in real time without having to physically be at the event''. Via a
login, the auction can be viewed on a PC or mobile device as it happens globally. In
this case, the vendor will be in Germany on business and be able to log into the
auction live, to see the hammer falling. Online users will be able to view the auction
from multiple camera angles. A web depository has been created to include sale
documents, plans and multiple
viewed during the webcast and questions can be entered via an integrated
messaging board. Bids from the auction will be updated by increments as they
happen. While online bids won't be accepted with this auction, Mr Hill says they will
happen next
