How to use LinkedIn?
I've already had a couple of responses to my recent Twitter Blog asking what's Linkedin?
Let me clarify.
- LinkedIn is the corporate social networking tool
- Members list past/current education and employment history , like a CV
- LinkedIn works by its members connecting to other members
- Members are free to recommend and request endorsements
- Members are encouraged to invite friends and business associates to “link in” hence the name LinkedIn
- Ask questions to the greater community
- View other members career and education profiles
- And then network like no tomorrow
More recently members are able blog and provide status updates ala Twitter.
- Launched in 2003
- US based
- Originally more popular in the US and Australia
- More recently the UK , Europe and South America.
- 30 million plus members worldwide
- It has become a who's who for corporate networkers
- Almost every industry is represented with particularly strong representation in management and senior management levels
It is a recruiter's paradise and a great way for job seekers to be “found” for your next job.
- LinkedIn also hosts corporate groups.

Webtron Future Vision Group for technology professionals is one such group with over 200+ members
