Ethan Harry’s Work Experience Here At Webtron

Hey, my name is Ethan Harry and i’ve just spent four days here at Webtron. It’s been an amazing time to truly see what it’s like to work ‘in the real world.’ I was a tiny bit nervous coming here for my first day but my colleagues treated me as if I were a new employee. Which I appreciated a lot because i didn’t want to be seen as a kid. They had me do many tasks e.g. go through their websites and find any errors or mistakes then make edits to the errors I found.

Working here helped me properly understand the workplace environment. Also it helped me get an idea of what I could be doing for my future career, Game Design. In the future I would love to work in a place that has the same dynamics as Webtron. The employees were very helpful if I ever had an issue. Alex, the boss, is so nice always checking up on us to see how we are and if we need any help.

I learnt how to do many tasks such as

• Writing blogs, emails, facebook and instagram posts

• How to use photoshop to design webpages and make GIF’s

• How to use WordPress to create or edit pages on a website (such as this)

• How to build a website using HTML and CSS (one of the web-designers talked me through the basic steps)

• How to use Mailchimp for creating emails and Instagram ads

Overall this whole experience has been a blast! I would recommend this to any person who is into design or anything to do with IT as it will help you a lot. It has helped me get a grasp on what Game Design could be like and also what the work environment is like. Thank you Webtron for giving me this wonderful opportunity!
