National Broadband Network – Latest News
The National Broadband Network has recently upgraded their website! The website now gives business-owners and home-owners more information regarding the progress of NBN construction within their areas. You can find this information here along with information including:
- whether your NBN roll-out has been planned;
- whether building has commenced; or
- whether the service is actually already available in your area.
- and importantly answer the question of what type of NBN service will be delivered to your business e.g. 100% Fibre or the poor mans’ Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) when NBN finally arrives.
You can also opt to sign up for regular updates regarding works in your area for the NBN too.
A long way until the finish line
Yikes! It looks like we won’t be getting NBN in our office until June 2018! Wondering why it’s taking so long?
Basically, the NBN rollout has been subject to many government reviews and and has undergone significant redesigns since it was announced in 2013. Dubbed “the largest infrastructure project in Australia’s history,” it seems that we’ve been waiting far too long for this project to finally hit our businesses. To complete the project by its proposed end date, NBNCo would need to double its rollout in 2017, and again in 2018.
Do you think it can be done by its scheduled date in 2020?
